We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair position in Indigenous Education at the University of Ottawa. This is an exceptional opportunity for an emerging researcher to lead in their field and contribute to the university's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will be a scholar with a strong profile in Indigenous Education, with a demonstrated ability to teach and conduct research in collaboration with Indigenous communities. The position is tenable for five years and renewable once, with a salary scale for an Assistant Professor starting at $94,588.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in Indigenous Education, with a focus on policy studies, health profession education, and other areas of interest.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Indigenous Education, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and knowledge keepers.
- Supervise and mentor students, including Indigenous students, in their research and academic pursuits.
- Ph.D. in Education or equivalent in a field related to the position.
- Demonstrated excellent track record of research in Indigenous Education, with a focus on collaboration with Indigenous communities.
- Ability to teach hybrid and online courses, with a focus on Indigenous Education.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with a requirement for proficiency in French.
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate research excellence in the CRC's identified area(s), with a focus on Indigenous Education.
