Teaching Opportunity

Mon Sheong Foundation is seeking a qualified educator to teach Chinese language and mathematics to students at our Chinese School campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned subjects and classes, implementing program and curricula to maximize students' learning experience.
  • Instruct students using various teaching methods, including Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
  • Deliver the program according to the teaching plan approved by the Principal.
  • Attend teacher meetings, seminars, and assist in school events.
  • Maintain attendance records and contact students' parents in case of consecutive absences.
  • Assign homework, mark, review, and return student work within a week or two.
  • Administer tests to evaluate students' progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents.
  • Meet with parents to discuss student progress and problems when required.

Requirements:

  • Teachers' College Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably within Ontario.
  • Good command of Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification an asset.

Working Hours:

  • Part-time hours from September to June, with classes held on Wednesday, Friday evenings, and/or Saturday mornings.

Language Requirements:

  • Speak standard Cantonese or Mandarin.
  • Mathematics teachers may use English to instruct.
  • Previous teaching experience is required.
  • Hold a teaching diploma, college diploma, or equivalent.
  • Teach at least two hours per week on Fridays or Saturdays.
