Job Title: Registered Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team at First Steps Learning & Child Care Centre Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes leading activities, ordering supplies, and assisting in record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Assist in keeping records
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
Requirements:
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Ability to work with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
