The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our team at the Hemlo underground operations near Marathon, Ontario, Canada. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-pressure pipeline maintenance and repair.
- This role involves working on a rotation of 14-shifts on / 14-days off, including days and nights.
- If you reside outside the Marathon area, this is a "drive in/drive out" role.
Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while performing welding and other maintenance duties underground at the Hemlo Operations.
Our Welders will:
• Adhere to and champion all safety-related policies and procedures;
• Perform welding repairs, installations, modifications of underground mining fleet to specifications, safely and efficiently;
• Demonstrate good housekeeping practices;
• Clean equipment and parts before maintenance or repair;
• Report relevant information affecting equipment availability, safety, and proper functioning;
• Assist with other maintenance-related tasks as required;
Requirements:
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalency;
• Demonstrated commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others;
• Ontario Provincial Trade License 456A (Red Seal Inter-Provincial license preferred), combined with either CWB or TSSA certification;
• Proficient in welding MIG, TIG, and Stick, and torch cutting;
• Flexible and willing to assist with various tasks;
• Strong communications, organizational, and time management skills;
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment;
What We Offer:
A competitive salary of $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, health and medical benefits, travel allowance, meals, and camp accommodations in Marathon, Ontario. The selected candidates will have to successfully complete a pre-employment Fit for Duty medical, including alcohol and drug screening.
