We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to join our team at Responsive Group Inc. Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with our senior management team to develop and implement our organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Review and update our mission, vision, and values annually and set goals and objectives for the organization.
- Operational Management
- Provide leadership and guidance to our staff to ensure that we are meeting our quality care standards.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Manage the efficient use of human, physical, and financial resources to maintain a high-quality care environment.
- Communication and Representation
- Communicate the corporate strategic directions to our staff, residents, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Represent our organization at external committees and task forces to promote our interests and influence policy direction.
- Human Resources and Risk Management
- Provide guidance and support to our Department Heads on labour issues, including disciplines, mediation, and arbitration.
- Conduct staff probationary and annual performance reviews.
- Identify potential liability issues and collaborate with staff to minimize risk.
- Financial Management
- Develop and manage our organization's operating budget in conjunction with our Department Heads.
- Monitor monthly expenditures and analyze our annual operating budgets for areas of risk and opportunity.
- Quality Improvement and Compliance
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of our quality improvement program.
- Monitor our compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Other Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of Department Heads and other key staff.
- Provide guidance and support to our staff on HR, risk management, resident care issues, and other matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned by our senior management team.
- Education and Experience
- Post-secondary degree from a program that is a minimum of three (3) years in duration or a post-secondary diploma in health or social services from a program that is at least two (3) years.
- Completed or enrolled in a long-term care administration management course that is at least one hundred (100) hours in duration of instruction time.
- Proven management experience in long-term care.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Good written communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting.
- Knowledge and previous experience using electronic health records.
- Working knowledge of computer applications, labour relations, and applicable legislation.
- Positive working attitude.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- At least three (3) years working experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in the health or social services sector or in another managerial or supervisory capacity (any field) if he or she has successfully completed the long-term care administrator or management program.
- Additional Requirements
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
- As a condition of employment, candidates are required to submit documented results of TB testing (within the last six months or within 14 days upon hire) or a chest X-ray (within the last year), as per Public Health requirements.
