As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying highly scalable distributed database systems that provide availability, reliability, and performance guarantees.

Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining the PostgreSQL-compatible edition of Amazon Aurora, a relational database that offers enterprise-class performance, availability, and durability to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop significant system software components critical to our industry-leading database services
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, and implement highly scalable distributed database systems
* Mentor and guide junior engineers to ensure the success of the team
* Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in database technology and apply that knowledge to improve our services

Requirements:

* 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
* 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
* Experience programming with at least one software programming language
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
