Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our team at IKO Industries Ltd. in Barrie, ON.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe working environment by following established protocols and reporting any hazards or near misses.
- Adhere to plant rules and regulations.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.
- Perform job set-ups, adjustments, startups, and shutdowns according to specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Adjust machinery to meet optimal production targets.
- Monitor and inspect film quality, production, and equipment condition.
- Report findings to supervisors and work with them to resolve any issues.
- Ensure quality of film and raw materials meets customer and company standards.
- Participate in cross-training on other company equipment.
- Work overtime as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, construction, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in flexographic printing and/or blown film multilayer extrusion is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of water-based print and/or blown film extrusion raw materials is an asset.
- Minimum 1 year of counter-balance forklift operating experience is recommended.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights.
