About the Role

The Assistant General Manager is a key leadership position at Banff Inn, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hotel. This role reports directly to the Cluster General Manager and is a critical member of the management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all hotel departments, with a focus on Front Office Operations.
  • Develop and implement business plans, marketing strategies, and operating budgets to drive revenue growth and improve guest satisfaction.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate staff to ensure a productive and efficient team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Manage financial performance, including revenue management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Represent the hotel at external events and meetings, building relationships with guests, employees, and the community.
  • Oversee maintenance and housekeeping of the hotel's physical facilities, ensuring employee and guest safety, and maintaining a high level of appearance and quality.
  • Develop and execute plans to increase market share and improve the hotel's competitive position.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and follow procedures for workplace injuries and accidents.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to lead and manage all levels of staff, including recruitment, training, and motivation.
  • Background in business planning, marketing, and sales.
  • Proficient in computerized systems and accounting principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations and a proven track record of success in a similar role.
