About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Asset Manager to join our team in Scarborough. As a Technical Asset Manager, you will play a critical part in managing data from Canada, Latin America, Asia Pacific, London, New York, and Mexico operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Discovery & Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow.
  • Maintain information about IT hardware & software assets to report on the value and ownership of financial assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Conduct configuration audits and coordinate with Technical Service Owners to correct issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Build relationships between assets and ensure the accuracy of the Configuration Items (CIs) within the CMDB.
  • Collaborate with the Configuration Management team to prepare the Configuration management plan.
  • Assess what CIs are impacted by a Change to a service in collaboration with IT Owners and Change Management.

Requirements:

  • Good communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external business partners and vendors.
  • At least 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including service mappings.
  • At least 3+ years of hands-on working experience in data reporting with ServiceNow CMDB, Asset Management & Service Catalogue.
  • At least 3+ years of hands-on working experience in data reporting with ServiceNow Incident/Problem/Change Management modules.
  • At least 2+ years of working experience in performing audits of hardware, configuration items, as needed to maintain accuracy within the CMDB.
  • Strong analytical skills to review Discovery patterns and payloads; manage subnets, monitor discovery schedules, maintain discovery schedules and dates.
  • Expert level in the use of MS Excel to create/maintain macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP & formulas.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure, which includes servers, networking, databases, and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with Discovery related technologies, such as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Secure Shell protocol (SSH), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and REST/RESTful APIs.
  • Post secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related field.
