Job Title: Family Medicine Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine Physician to join our team at Alberta Health Services - North Zone. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a community-based setting.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a full-time community-based practice in the community of High Level. This will involve providing services in Community Clinic, Emergency Room Coverage, Anesthesia, Inpatient & Outpatient Services, and Long-Term Care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of High Level.
  • Establish and maintain full-time community-based practice within the community.
  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services.
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including equal participation in the Emergency Department and Anesthesia call schedules, as required.
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules, and AHS policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine.
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties, as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Current Alberta Practice Permit or valid CPSA Letter of Eligibility to practice in the advertised position (proof to be included with application).
  • Recent hands-on experience (within the past 2 years) in all areas of practice noted within the Description, as the sole provider.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
  • College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).
  • College of Family Physicians of Canada - Emergency Medicine (CCFP-EM).
  • Sole provider of Anesthesia services (Diploma required, with a minimum of six months pre & post diploma experience).
  • Geriatrics.
  • Rural Emergency Room Experience.
