Nestled along the Highwood River, High River offers a unique blend of nature and community spirit.

We are recruiting an experienced OB/GYN to join our medical staff at High River General Hospital.

This full-time position offers a mix of community-based clinic and hospital work with on-call coverage to support local maternity clinic providers.

You will have the opportunity to develop strong surgical skills, including operative laparoscopy experience, and operate without on-site backup of other surgical specialties in a Level 1 community hospital.

Key responsibilities:

  • No antepartum care required – consultant obstetrics only, providing backup for local family physicians and midwives who provide low-risk obstetrical care.
  • On-call 1 in 3 but taken from home (must reside within 30 minutes of the High River General Hospital).
  • Gynecology access to 2 full OR days per month.

To be successful in this role, you will need to establish and maintain a community-based practice within the town of High River or surrounding rural area.

The estimated salary range for this position is $250,000-$300,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
