About this role
We are seeking an innovative, data-driven, results-oriented engineer to contribute to our continued legacy of innovation. As a Building Automation Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing energy management and control systems for commercial and institutional buildings.

Key Responsibilities
• Review project documentation to create control drawings as per customer design standards;
• Identify equipment compatibility issues and design discrepancies;
• Communicate issues with design of equipment shop-drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications;
• Select materials to meet project requirements, specifications, codes, and customer standards;
• Write sequence of operations based on HVAC principles;
• Coordinate design requirements with the Project Manager and field team;
• Complete assigned projects focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance;
• Identify budget variances;
• Manage material procurement;
• Assist the sales team in pre-bid meetings and evaluation of tender drawings;
• Propose energy-saving opportunities to the client;
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with clients and contractors on technical issues;
• Develop commissioning checklists for the field team;
• Issue Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals for supplied systems, equipment, and devices.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a College Diploma in Building Automation Systems, Electrical, Controls and Automation, or HVAC;
• 3+ years experience with HVAC and/or BAS protocols: BACnet/MSTP, BACnet/IP, Modbus;
• 3+ years experience with Computer Networking Systems;
• 3+ years experience with DDC systems and applications pertaining to HVAC/Control;
• 3+ years experience with CAD Tools;
• 5+ years experience with Microsoft Suite at a proficient level;
• 1+ years experience with Building Automation System Programming.

Preferred Qualifications (assets)
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
