About this role
We are seeking an innovative, data-driven, results-oriented engineer to contribute to our legacy of innovation. As a Building Automation Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing energy management and control systems for commercial and institutional buildings.

Key Responsibilities
• Review project documentation to create control drawings and identify equipment compatibility issues
• Communicate design issues and recommend alternate solutions to engineering consultants
• Select materials to meet project requirements and specifications
• Write sequence of operations based on HVAC principles and building codes
• Coordinate design requirements with the Project Manager and field team
• Complete projects focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance
• Identify budget variances and manage material procurement
• Assist the sales team in pre-bid meetings and evaluate tender drawings
• Propose energy-saving opportunities to clients
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with clients and contractors on technical issues
• Develop commissioning checklists and issue Operation and Maintenance Manuals

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a College Diploma in Building Automation Systems, Electrical, Controls and Automation, or HVAC
• 3+ years experience with HVAC and/or BAS protocols: BACnet/MSTP, BACnet/IP, Modbus
• 3+ years experience with Computer Networking Systems
• 3+ years experience with DDC Systems and applications pertaining to HVAC/Control
• 3+ years experience with CAD Tools and Microsoft Suite at a proficient level
• 1+ years experience with Building Automation System Programming

Preferred Qualifications (assets)
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
