About the Role

We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Sudbury, ON. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on various projects and contribute to the design and development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and direct less experienced mechanical staff on all responsibilities, particularly in the design of pumps and piping systems.
  • Perform QA/QC review of specifications, reports, code application, RFI, and submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • QA/QC reviews all calculations by designers and provide guidance and mentoring.
  • Determine the content of drawings and specs for less experienced staff to meet the scope of work.
  • Review code-related items with designers and ensure compliance.
  • Edit and develop the basis of design narratives documenting the project scope.
  • Write new specifications sections and develop new details as required for project needs.
  • Write studies and reports for systems on projects.
  • Apply and modify appropriate controls diagrams for the project.
  • Modify sequences of operation for air and water side equipment and systems.
  • Critically evaluate contractor pricing and cost estimates.
  • Travel to project sites to review the progress of work and successfully solve problems within time and budget.
  • Develop and monitor work plans.

Requirements

  • Candidate should have an engineering Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of pump and piping design experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • 3D Modeling experience will be considered an asset.
