About the Role

M&P Truck & Trailer Repairs Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the fabrication and repair of metal components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Execution: Interpret welding process specifications and execute them accurately to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Metal Fabrication: Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to fabricate metal components, and fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal to precise specifications.
  • Material Evaluation: Determine the weldability of materials and select the most suitable materials for the job.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move heavy metal components, and operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, and be physically demanding to meet the demands of the job.
  • Overtime Required: Be available to work overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
Personal Suitability
  • Organized and Team Player: Demonstrate strong organizational skills and be a team player who can work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Hardworking and Adaptable: Be hardworking and adaptable, with a strong work ethic and ability to adjust to changing priorities.
Experience and Education
  • Education and Experience: Possess a secondary (high) school graduation certificate and have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people, and offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
Language and Work Schedule
  • Language: Work in English as the primary language.
  • Work Schedule: Work 35 hours per week in a regular schedule.
