About the Role

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inclusion and Diversity Co-op Student to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of our inclusion and diversity strategies and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis on best practices in inclusion and diversity, and prepare related materials, such as presentations, reports, and project communications.
  • Analyze projects and processes, comparing data to industry and best practice trends.
  • Contribute to the collection and reporting of data and feedback to support the overall inclusion and diversity strategy.
  • Support the development of meeting materials and briefings on topics within the inclusion and diversity strategy, including written or verbal presentations as required.
  • Identify common inclusion and diversity priorities with other similar organizations.
  • Contribute to reporting on inclusion and diversity strategy, projects, goals, and developing ongoing mechanisms for communication.
  • Support change management and project development related to inclusion and diversity.
  • Support the existing Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Support the Manager, Inclusion and Diversity, on the development of policies, toolkits, and programs aligned with achieving inclusion and diversity objectives and desired outcomes resulting from program implementation.
Requirements
  • In the process of completing an undergraduate or graduate degree in human resources, business, sociology, public policy, or a related field of study.
  • Passion for inclusion and diversity, with a commitment to values diversity and applies an equity lens, consciously thinking about who needs to be included.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and best practices an asset.
  • Motivated and able to work in an inclusive and collaborative team environment, as well as independently.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strategic analysis.
