About the Role

  • This role will be responsible for providing medical imaging services using radiopharmaceuticals, working closely with our multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • You will work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise to provide top-notch care to patients while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • We require a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks effectively, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • A key aspect of this role is staying up-to-date with industry developments and maintaining current knowledge of best practices in nuclear medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiopharmacy and equipment quality control procedures as required.
  • Obtain informed consent from patients and verify their medical history and information.
  • Assess patient health status using pre-treatment questionnaires that cover contraindications, objective, and subjective data.
  • Follow cold chain and nuclear regulatory requirements for radiopharmaceuticals according to Mckesson policies and procedures.
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patients during and after treatment.
  • Document patient care services and manage records according to company policies.
  • Participate in training and mentoring new staff members.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance activities, including audits and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Certification with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) is mandatory.
  • Minimum three years of experience in nuclear medicine within a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Able to work effectively in a computerized environment, utilizing software applications and electronic patient records.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset but not necessary.
  • Ability to lift 25 kg, push/pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods.

Educational Requirements

  • Advanced Diploma in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging from an accredited college or equivalent is necessary.
  • Current Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training certificate is preferred.
  • Ministry of Labor 'Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps' training certificate is required.
