As a quality assurance advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality control process in business insurance. You will also act as a resource person for underwriters at all stages of the underwriting process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review new contracts, modifications, renewals, and cancellations to meet quality, service, productivity, and profitability goals.
  • Prepare reports for reviewed files and communicate observations to stakeholders.
  • Follow up on recommendations weekly until issues are resolved.
  • Collaborate with managers to create individual or group coaching plans.
  • Participate in training and coaching of underwriters and approve their files.
  • Produce monthly reports on risk quality, underwriting, and service.
  • Create an annual report summarizing observations, improvements, and an action plan for the following year.
  • Review portfolio transfers and make recommendations.
  • Identify common underwriting difficulties and recommend appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Suggest operational improvements to enhance the effectiveness of underwriters and analysts.
  • Oversee the post-claims underwriting process.
  • Collaborate on product and standard analyses when needed.

Requirements:

  • College diploma in general insurance or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial property insurance.
  • Knowledge of brokerage is an asset.
  • Holding a P.A.A. designation.
  • F.P.A.A. designation is a significant asset.
