Lullaboo Nursery & Childcare Centre is seeking a skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for young children.

About the Role

This permanent position offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children and families, promoting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development through engaging activities and programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to create a safe and inclusive environment for all children.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
