Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our team as a Senior Accounting Manager. As a key member of our assurance team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing compilation, review and audit engagements, including corporate and personal tax returns, HST returns, and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and/or review compilation, review and audit engagements, including corporate and personal tax returns, HST returns, and bookkeeping;
  • Manage engagements, including keeping Partners abreast of progress;
  • Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments;
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving complex and routine accounting, audit and tax issues;
  • Develop junior staff members by providing technical guidance and mentoring; and
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client personnel, co-workers, and all levels of staff and management.
Requirements
  • Canadian CPA designation;
  • 2-3 years post-qualification public accounting experience;
  • Sound knowledge of the CICA Handbook, review procedures and tax compliance;
  • Ability to provide proactive solutions to clients, partners and staff on complex assurance issues;
  • Experience in managing and developing staff on engagements;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
  • Proven project management and time management skills;
  • Working knowledge of Caseware, Jazzit and Taxprep an asset; and
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing client deadlines.
