Vice President of Software Engineering

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President of Software to join our team at 4AG Robotics in Salmon Arm, BC. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of our software strategy, leading a high-performing software engineering team, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate software into our proprietary robots.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead software development lifecycle for our robotic systems, from initial concept through to deployment and maintenance.
- Develop and execute software strategy aligned with our company's goals and vision, setting objectives, defining priorities, and leading the execution of key projects.
- Build and lead a high-performing software engineering team, mentoring and guiding software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Contribute real output to the company, leveraging your technical expertise to drive innovation and growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, controls, AI, and build teams, to integrate software into our proprietary robots.
- Design and implement scalable, robust software solutions to enhance the functionality, reliability, and performance of our robotic systems.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, introducing new methodologies and technologies to enhance our software capabilities.
- Oversee software project planning, scheduling, and execution, managing resources and ensuring timely delivery of software solutions.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including investors and customers.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in software development, preferably within the field of robotics, automation, or AI-led companies.
- Proficiency in software development methodologies, programming languages, and tools, with experience in robotics software development, real-time systems, and AI/machine learning a plus.
- Proven track record of leading and managing software engineering teams, with strong ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans, with a focus on pushing the overall speed of an organization.
- Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and driving collaborative efforts.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of change and uncertainty.
- Ability to contribute real output to the company, leveraging your technical expertise to drive innovation and growth.

- Salary Range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000 + Bonus + Employee Stock Option Plan.
