About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Harold Schlichting. As a Finish Carpenter, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create high-quality finishes.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to create a solid base for construction projects.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a seamless finish.
Work Environment

As a Finish Carpenter, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment, often at heights, in noisy and dusty conditions. You will be required to work in various locations, including construction sites, and may be required to travel regularly.

Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Tools and Equipment: You will be required to provide your own tools and safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots and a hard hat.
  • Transportation: You will be required to have a valid driver's license and own a vehicle.
