Lead Engineering for Dropbox Core

We're seeking a visionary leader to guide our next phase of growth as the VP of Engineering for our Core Business. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for the overall success of our engineering initiatives for our core products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a world-class engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Dropbox Core leadership across all functions to manage success of cross-functional relationships and initiatives.
  • Own Dropbox Core's technical strategy and create a culture of strong technical ownership, resulting in highly reliable products and services at scale.
  • Set technical direction, make critical architectural decisions, and ensure the successful delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.
  • Own the delivery of business strategy, and work with executive teams to set business strategy each year.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of engineering experience in a medium or large software company, including 6+ years managing high-performance teams.
  • Experience managing engineering teams similar in size to our 400-person engineering organization.
  • Ability to balance business delivery with engineering quality, strong business acumen, and a keen eye for data-driven decision making.
  • Strong technical craft mastery and engineering discipline.
  • Experience building a high-performing culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Start-up and growth experience leading fast-growing engineering teams with a set of sub-teams and managers.
  • Experience managing full-stack (mobile, platform & product) engineering organizations at SaaS companies.
  • Experience leading an engineering department through a transformation phase.
  • Experience at both large companies and SaaS start-ups.
  • Experience with acquisitions, both from the acquire and acquired side.
  • Experience managing remote/virtual-first teams.

Salary: $340,000 — $460,000 CAD
