Bakery Supervisor Job Description

At Simply Biscotti, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain a well-stocked bakery.
  • Train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to produce high-quality products.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Hire and dismiss staff as needed, ensuring that all employees meet the company's standards and requirements.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to prevent waste and ensure that all products are available for sale.
  • Oversee the sales and merchandising of baked goods to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a fast-paced bakery environment with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical activity.
  • Work a 40-hour week with occasional overtime.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Security and Safety:
  • Pass a criminal record check.
Personal Suitability:
  • Accurate and reliable.
  • Client-focused and team-oriented.
Experience:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a bakery or related field.
