Clinical Nurse, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients recovering from anaesthetics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assesses post-anaesthetic patients through the collection and evaluation of information from various sources, using skills of observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
- Provides nursing care to address critical care needs of patients according to physicians' and anaesthetists' orders, and in conformance with established standards and hospital policies.
- Communicates and shares information with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating with members of the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as required, and address changes in patient condition.
- Coordinates nursing care for patients, prioritizing tasks, assigning and delegating responsibilities to support staff, and making referrals to the interprofessional care team according to established protocols and practice standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- One year's recent relevant clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area and completion of post-graduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area, proficiency in initiating and maintaining Intravenous Therapy, and ability to recognize acuity changes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and other personnel, communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, the public, medical staff, and members of the interprofessional care team, and promote person-centered care that demonstrates empathy, trust, and respect.
