About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at G Star Homes Inc. As a Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for drywall projects
  • Instruct apprentices in drywall finishing techniques
  • Apply coats of plaster and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
  • Estimate costs and materials for drywall projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications for drywall projects
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work under pressure. The work site environment is dusty, and the candidate must be able to handle heavy loads and work for extended periods.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall finishing
  • Permanent employment
