Aitchison School of Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate Education Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide support to students in various capacities, including academic assistance, behavioral support, and social skills development. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other school staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with assignments and reinforce learning concepts under the supervision of classroom teachers;
  • Accompany students during school and extracurricular activities, promoting socialization and inclusivity;
  • Help students individually or in small groups with tasks, fostering a sense of community and teamwork;
  • Monitor and report student progress to classroom teachers, ensuring timely interventions and adjustments as needed;
  • Assist with classroom inventory, maintaining a safe and organized learning environment;
  • Supervise students during recess and lunch hour, promoting physical activity and healthy habits;
  • Participate in government or community programs supporting newcomers, refugees, youth employment, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities;
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate;
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience working with students in an educational setting;
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, with a commitment to creating a welcoming work environment for all students;
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
