About the Role

We are seeking a Laundry Assistant - Fort Macleod Healthcare to join our team at Extendicare Fort Macleod. This part-time role involves collecting, washing, drying, and distributing laundry according to established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Collects/receives laundry and performs cleaning and drying as per established protocol.
  • Prepares laundry for distribution.
  • Observes operation of machines and reports malfunctions to Supervisor.
  • Assists in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Advises Supervisor of inventory levels of chemicals and linen shortages.
  • Adheres to established department policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment, and infection control.

Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, squatting, reaching, and lifting of heavy soiled linens but in controlled amounts or with assistance.
  • Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Understanding of washer and dryer operations and some knowledge of chemicals used in process preferred.
  • Strong organization, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

Salary Estimate

The estimated salary for this position is around $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
