Summer Camp
**Camp Cadicasu is looking to hire a team of Cabin Leaders to support the facilitation of all summer camp programs.**
Cabin Leaders will participate in Staff Training (June 29, 2025 - July 4, 2025) and learn how to direct a variety of activities (including but not limited to: archery, arts and crafts, assorted sports, campfires, clan/core games, creek time, hiking/backpacking, performing arts, wilderness skills, and more).
Cabin Leaders will live with and lead campers 24 hours a day, from sign-in to sign-out (Sunday afternoon - Friday evening each week during the months of July and August), including all mealtimes and overnight.
Cabin Leaders will respond to the physical, emotional and mental needs of campers as they arise. Cabin Leaders are responsible for promoting unity and engagement amidst their campers, and are to act as their primary caregivers during a week of camp. As such, Cabin Leaders are responsible for waking up campers, ensuring they are managing their hygiene, eating an adequate amount (as is normal for that child/youth), are building relationships with other campers/staff, are participating in Camp Cadicasu programs and are having fun/learning new things. Cabin Leaders are responsible for overseeing the free-time of their campers and must ensure respectful boundaries are maintained.
Cabin Leaders are responsible for integrating Camp Cadicasu themes into their daily/weekly program, and will be given adequate opportunity to exercise their own creativity and leadership style into their experience.
Cabin Leaders will be provided copies of their camper documents, to which they are expected to read, review and consult in order to best support campers during their time at Camp Cadicasu.
Cabin Leaders will be energetic, empathetic and lead by example to motivate and encourage their campers to take part in all aspects of Camp Cadicasu programming.
Cabin Leaders will typically be the first point of contact for campers to disclose sensitive information to, and are responsible for the appropriate reporting of such instances.
Cabin Leaders will escort their campers off-site during hiking/backpacking out-trips, will complete a myriad of paperwork on behalf of their campers (ie: postcards, starfish awards, feedback forms, etc.) and are expected to communicate effectively with both the Camper Support TL and Staff Support TL regarding ways in which camper or staff needs may need to be addressed.
Cabin Leaders are responsible for upholding a positive culture, especially as it pertains to Camp Cadicasu values such as inclusion and environmental stewardship.
Cabin Leaders will regularly look for ways in which to extend hospitality to Camp Cadicasu campers, LITs, volunteers, parents/guardians and clientele.
Cabin Leaders will be responsible for maintaining the Camp Cadicasu facilities by assisting with daily/weekly clean-ups of cabins, shared facilities and the property, including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, window washing, restocking supplies, setting up/tearing down the mess hall, maintaining the staff lounge, serving food at mealtimes, putting away craft materials/sports equipment, laundry, etc.
