At True North Sports Camps, we provide year-round sports programming for boys and girls ages 2 to 14 in Toronto, Etobicoke, and Oshawa. Our camps offer a range of activities, including baseball, flag football, basketball, soccer, multi-sport, and hockey specialty summer day camps. We also offer after-school and weekend programs during the fall, winter, and spring.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Program Director to lead our summer camps. As a Program Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing daily camp programming while fostering a fun, inclusive, and safe environment for all campers and staff. You will work closely with your Co-Program Director and the Assistant Director to ensure seamless camp operations.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-Camp (June)
  1. Collaborate with the Leadership Team to create engaging camp programming (daily and weekly)
  2. Assist with staff training and preparation
  3. Evaluate and obtain required equipment and supplies
  • During Camp (July & August)
  1. Effectively manage and delegate tasks to staff members
  2. Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to coaches
  3. Support communication of schedules and reminders to coaches
  4. Facilitate start and end of day staff meetings
  • Camper and Family Interactions
  1. Manage camper check-in and check-out processes
  2. Communicate with parents and handle program questions and feedback
  3. Provide care and comfort to upset or distressed campers
  • First Aid and Camp Safety
  1. Ensure safe activity execution
  2. Maintain accurate records of incidents
  3. Administer prescription medications as needed


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess strong leadership and communication skills, developed through previous supervisory roles. Experience in developing programs and activities for children, as well as well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills, are also essential. Additionally, you should have flexibility to meet on occasional evenings and weekends throughout the summer. Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR C is also required.
