About Us
">At HNWS, we are committed to creating a non-oppressive, social, political, and economic environment for women, their children, and their communities. Our mission is to provide 24-hour crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, support, and residential services to assist women aged 16 and older who need safety from abuse.
Job Description
">The successful candidate will have experience in the Violence Against Women Sector and a familiarity with and connection to the communities we serve. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to advance the vision, mission, values, and impact of the organization;
- Supervising staff and management team and providing ongoing guidance and direction;
- Representing the agency at community and sector-based planning tables and forums as required;
- Communicating with related agencies to promote the coordination and/or planning of local services;
- Representing the agency externally to the community, government, media, and other organizations in cooperation with Board direction and communication;
- Participating in the formulation/monitoring of budgets and ensuring responsible fiscal management;
- Maintaining a relationship with funders and adhering to Ministry directions and Legislative standards;
- Performing other duties as may be determined by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications and Core Competencies
">The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and core competencies:
- A post-secondary degree in Social Science, Humanities, or Business;
- Minimum five years in a program and services leadership role, preferably in social services;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience providing programs and services in a feminist-based framework with a trauma-based approach;
- Excellent public speaking skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, specifically in the areas of funder engagement, community engagement, employee, and volunteer engagement;
- Demonstrated management skills in program planning, client service delivery, grant writing, problem-solving, risk management, and employee relations;
- General knowledge of facility management and oversight;
- Previous experience working effectively with a Board of Directors;
- Commitment to feminist principles of equity and empowerment;
- Ability to work from an ARAO/Intersectionality lens.
Benefits
">We offer a competitive salary range of $93,000 to $95,000 and a comprehensive benefits package that includes vacation, sick and personal time, as well as flexible work arrangements.
