Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Superintendent to join our team. As a Mechanical Superintendent, you will play a key role in the success of our construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the activities of foremen and crew members to ensure efficient and safe project execution.
  • Assist in the coordination and planning of projects in a particular construction area, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
  • Oversee all operations relating to a specific discipline or segment of work, including mechanical, piping, and electrical systems.
  • Direct discipline craft supervisors on site, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily inspections of work performed, identifying and addressing any quality or safety issues.
  • Provide job safety training and awareness for personnel, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Establish budgetary guidelines for the job, ensuring cost control measures are in place and adhered to.
  • Establish quality standards for all jobs, ensuring that all quality assurance and company standards are met.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of construction experience, with 3+ years in a Mechanical Superintendent or leadership capacity.
  • Ability to oversee multiple disciplines, including steel, piping, and mechanical.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems, think critically, and make sound decisions.
