About the Role

The Housekeeper is a vital member of our community team, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine and rotation cleaning duties throughout the building and suites, including dusting, vacuuming, and sweeping, as well as cleaning appliances, washing floors, walls, windows, and doors.
  • Change and make beds, remove curtains/window coverings for cleaning and re-hanging, and remove garbage.
  • Maintain a safe environment for residents, family, and staff by preventing accidents, knowing emergency procedures and regulations, and safely using supplies and equipment.
  • Keep work areas in an orderly, safe, and clean condition, and replenish supplies throughout the building.
  • Utilize infection control procedures and report significant changes or uncommon resident behavior to nursing staff as required.
  • Attend and participate in community and education programs, and work collaboratively with all team members and supervisors.
Requirements
  • Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • WHMIS Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate as applicable.
  • Free from communicable diseases and allergies or conditions that may be aggravated by working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment.
  • Demonstrate collaborative and team working skills, and ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
  • Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand, and walk as required to perform the duties of the position.
