Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Mechanical Engineering Professor to join our faculty at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing courses in building energy analysis, as well as conducting research in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and develop courses in building energy analysis, including lectures, readings, and project work
  • Conduct research in the field of building energy analysis, with a focus on developing knowledge and skills to reduce building energy use
  • Develop and implement analysis tools, such as whole-building simulation, to inform decision-making regarding improvements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement sustainable building practices

Requirements:

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Strong background and active research in the subject area
  • Background in mechanical engineering and licensed or eligible for licensing as a professional engineer in one of the provinces of Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching and developing courses in building energy analysis
  • Experience in conducting research in the field of building energy analysis
  • Knowledge of whole-building simulation tools and techniques
