Job Summary:
The Magnaflux Operator is a key member of our quality assurance team at Johnson Electric. As a Magnaflux Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in our products by conducting thorough inspections using the Magnaflux system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of parts using the Magnaflux system to detect defects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Remove and clean solution filters as required.
- Perform particle concentration and short circuit tests on parts.
- Use cut-off saws to cut parts for examination as needed.
- Report any abnormalities or defects to the Quality Assurance Department.
- De-magnetize products after MPI operation and record on process sheets.
- Ensure process sheets are completed and signed off by authorized personnel.
- Maintain an organized workspace and ensure clear distinction between incoming and outgoing products.
- Update logbooks with part numbers, magnaflux numbers, quantity through, fall-out quantity, etc.
- Communicate first-off inspection results promptly to ensure timely product handling.
- Follow all safety regulations and wear required protective safety equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform continuous close-range visual inspections for extended periods.
- 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Pass a specific mandatory eye test.
- Understanding of strict quality concepts as they relate to automotive parts.
- Able to work in a dark, confined space with limited movement.
- Positive attitude and passion for exceeding quality and quantity specifications.
- Demonstrated acceptable level of safety, attendance, quality, and production.
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Proficient in English (both spoken and written).
- Work indoors in a noisy environment with varying temperatures.
- Lifting may be required (up to 25lbs) with assistance available if needed.
- Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights, or continental shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
- Able to work overtime when required/requested.
