Magnaflux Operator Job Summary

Johnson Electric is seeking a skilled Magnaflux Operator to join our team. As a Magnaflux Operator, you will be responsible for inspecting parts using the Magnaflux system in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to health and safety policies and quality systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove and clean solution filters to ensure optimal system performance
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections of parts with and without black light, and perform particle concentration and short circuit tests to identify any defects or abnormalities
  • Cut parts for examination using cut-off saws as required, ensuring precision and accuracy
  • Report any inspection results to the Quality Assurance Department in a timely and accurate manner
  • De-magnetize products after MPI operation and record the process on the process sheet
  • Ensure that process sheets are completed and signed-off by authorized personnel
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including logbooks for part numbers, magnaflux numbers, quantity through, fall-out quantity, etc.
  • Communicate first-off inspection results promptly to ensure timely product handling and minimize delays
  • Adhere to all safety regulations pertaining to the proper use of chemicals and wear required protective safety equipment
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform continuous close-range visual inspections for extended periods of time
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Specific mandatory eye test required
  • Understanding of strict quality concepts as they relate to automotive parts
  • Able to work in a dark, confined space where movement is limited
  • Positive attitude and passion to exceed all quality and quantity specifications
  • Demonstrated acceptable level of safety, attendance, quality, and production
  • Basic mathematical skills required
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
  • Work indoors in a noisy environment with varying temperatures
  • Lifting may be required, up to 25lbs with assistance available if needed
  • Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights, or continental
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time
  • Able to work overtime when required/requested
