The Magnaflux Operator is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our products. As a Magnaflux Operator, you will be working with our Magnaflux system to inspect parts, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Remove and clean solution filters to maintain the effectiveness of the Magnaflux system.
- Visually inspect parts with and without the black light, performing particle concentration and short circuit tests to identify any defects or abnormalities.
- Use cut-off saws to cut parts for examination as required, ensuring accurate and precise results.
- Report any abnormalities or suspected flaws to the Quality Assurance Department, providing detailed information and recommendations for corrective action.
- De-magnetize all products after MPI operation and record the results on process sheets.
- Ensure process sheets are completed and signed-off by appropriate personnel at all critical stages, maintaining accurate records of MPI operations.
- Maintain an organized workspace, clearly distinguishing between incoming and outgoing products.
- Update logbooks with part numbers, magnaflux numbers, quantity through, fall-out quantity, and other relevant information.
- Communicate first-off inspection results promptly to ensure timely product handling and minimize delays.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines for the proper use of chemicals, wearing required protective safety equipment at all times.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform continuous close-range visual inspections for extended periods, detecting critical quality defects.
- 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Completion of a specific mandatory eye test.
- Understanding of strict quality concepts as they relate to automotive parts.
- Able to work in a dark, confined space with limited movement.
- Positive attitude and passion for exceeding quality and quantity specifications.
- Demonstrated acceptable level of safety, attendance, quality, and production.
- Basic mathematical skills required.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work well independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Proficient in English (both spoken and written).
- Work indoors, with a potentially noisy environment and varying temperatures.
- Lifting may be required, up to 25lbs, with assistance available if needed.
- Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights, or continental shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
- Able to work overtime when required or requested.
