About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team at Black Bear Builders. As a carpentry specialist, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts and measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Utilize hand and power tools, and transport materials and tools to and from work areas
  • Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
