Job Summary:

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Assistant 2 to join our team. As an EA2, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs and abilities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with complex needs.
  • Provide academic and behavioral support to students in classroom, small group, and individual settings.
  • Deliver specialized programming to students under the direction of the classroom teacher and resource teacher.
  • Administer student medication as determined by the student's U.R.I.S. plan.
  • Supervise and assist with the swim program.
  • Support students with challenging educational needs, including those with physical disabilities.
  • Provide personal care and toileting assistance to students as needed.
  • Utilize specialized devices and equipment to support students with complex needs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Experience working with students with complex needs and physical disabilities.
  • Ability to lift and assist with transitional movements and mobility training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
