Job Summary:
Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a Support Educational Assistant to join our team. As a Support Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting and supporting inclusive practices within our school division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support students with diverse needs and abilities.
- Assist students with behavioral and learning challenges in a classroom, small group, and individual settings.
- Provide academic support to students, including delivering specialized or adapted programming under the direction of the classroom teacher and resource teacher.
- Document student-specific program performance and provide supports for students with challenging educational needs.
- Supervise recess and lunch duty, as well as assist with the swim program.
- Administer student medication as determined by the student's U.R.I.S. plan.
- Support students in community-based programs and facilitate the transport of students between education sites.
- Assist students with their eating needs, including supervision during lunch and oral feeding.
Requirements:
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Knowledge of inclusive practices and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
