Early Childhood Educator

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Compass Early Learning and Care. As a School Age Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that celebrates children's curiosity and whole selves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Maintain active supervision with children while still being engaged in play.
- Document children's learning progress through observation, reflection, and research questions.
- Create and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children.
- Assist the children with diapering, dressing, and eating habits.
- Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
- Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners to create a supportive environment.
- Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and staff training opportunities.
- Assist in housekeeping duties within the program.
- Follow CELC, CCEYA, and Ministry of Education policies and procedures.

Requirements:
- years experience working/volunteering with children and youth.
- Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
- Valid certifications including: Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, and Updated immunization records.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators OR; has a post-secondary degree in a similar field Child and Youth Care, Recreation and Leisure, Social Service Work, Bachelor of Education, etc.) OR; is interested in pursuing their ECE diploma.
