About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Age Educator to join our team at Compass Early Learning and Care. As a School Age Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain active supervision with children while engaging in play.
  • Document children's learning progress through observation, reflection, and research questions.
  • Create and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Assist children with daily routines, such as diapering, dressing, and eating.
  • Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners to create a supportive environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and staff training.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties within the program.

Requirements
  • 2 years of experience working with children and youth.
  • Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
  • Valid certifications, including police vulnerable sector check, standard first aid, and CPR level C.
  • Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators or equivalent.
