Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure food is handled safely, including proper storage and labeling, to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Assist cooks in basic food preparation, such as meal planning and food presentation.
  • Execute proper food service in accordance with internal and external guidelines and protocols.
  • Serve meals according to resident diet orders, promoting a positive dining experience.
  • Wash, clean, and maintain the kitchen and dining room to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a current Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Experience in the hospitality/restaurant industry and/or enrollment or completion of the Food Service Worker course.
  • Have a caring heart with a passion for serving others.
  • Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • A clear Police Record check with Vulnerable Sector search within the past 6 months.

Availability:

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
