About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Shannex, a leading provider of senior accommodations, services, and care in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and direct resident needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and planning resident care needs through consultation with medical professionals and care conferences
  • Providing leadership to health services staff and overseeing the provision of quality health services
  • Administering and recording prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice
  • Maintaining accurate and complete documentation and reporting
  • Applying dressings and treatments according to physician's orders and policy
  • Assisting with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staff
About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Is registered with the provincial Practical Nursing regulatory body
  • Has the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Has valid CPR & First Aid Certification (preferred)
  • Has a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
  • Has previous experience working with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment (an asset)
  • Has a passion for the healthcare sector and ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
