About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Worker Supervisor to join our team at Avon Building Maintenance Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our facilities and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of maintenance workers and ensure that they have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds, including landscaping and hardscaping.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Create detailed estimates for maintenance projects, including labour and materials costs.
  • Organize and Direct Construction Projects: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative walls, and other outdoor features.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work completed, materials used, and labour hours.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and perform repairs as needed.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure the necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for maintenance projects.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot maintenance issues and provide guidance to staff on best practices.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure that maintenance tasks are completed on time.
Certifications, Licenses, Memberships, and Courses
  • Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) Certification: Possess a valid CNLA certification.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Attention to Detail: Possess strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Standing for Extended Periods: Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
  • Work Term: Permanent position.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 32 hours per week.
