Salary

Job Description

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) with Spectrum Health Care, you will play a vital role in providing personal care and support to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, and skincare. You will also be responsible for continually assessing, anticipating, identifying, and responding to new and changing needs of patients, and communicating available resources to patients when appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • You must have one of the following qualifications: a valid Personal Support Worker Certificate from a Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities or the Ministry of Education approved program, an RN/RPN Student who has completed at least one year of the program, or an Internationally licensed Nurse, Midwife, or Physician.
  • You must be physically able to meet the demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, and reaching freely for extended periods, lifting 23 kg independently, assisting clients with standing, walking, sitting, and repositioning clients in bed.
  • You must demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.
  • You must have a valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR certificate.
  • You must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check.
  • You must have an updated immunization record, including a TB Test within the last 12 months.
  • You must be proficient in verbal and written English communication skills, with additional language skills considered an asset.
