Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef - Japanese Cuisine Specialist to join our team at East City Matsu Sushi Japanese Restaurant.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inspecting kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Ordering supplies and equipment to maintain inventory levels and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment usage.
  • Cleaning kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

About You

  • You have extensive experience in sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of chefs and kitchen staff.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of kitchen inventory management systems and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
