Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Operations Worker III to join our team as a Snowfighter in the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. As a Snowfighter, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy construction equipment, including one-person plows, to ensure safe and efficient winter operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including one-person plows, to clear snow and ice from highways and roads.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve winter maintenance goals.
  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory records for snowfighting equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Completion of grade ten (10) and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment.
  • Valid New Brunswick Class 3 driver's license with endorsement for air brakes.
  • Written and spoken competence in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying weather conditions.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-Person Plow certification.
  • Experience with inventory management and record-keeping.
