Job SummaryThe Delivery Driver - Logistics Specialist is a critical role within Ryder's operations, responsible for delivering orders and picking up products while providing exceptional customer service. This position also serves as a backup in the warehouse, handling material handling tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Drive a 26-foot truck in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Deliver products to clients/customers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery while providing superior customer service.
- Collect products for returns according to instructions and provide customers with credit notes.
- Conduct pre- and post-vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and maintenance.
- Complete administrative tasks, including paperwork and record-keeping.
- Record order discrepancies and inform the Dispatch Office for resolution.
- Work in the warehouse as needed, performing material handling tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
- Candidate must provide a valid Ontario driver's license and utility bills showing current address.
- Candidate must pass an RCMP fingerprint background check.
- Candidate must have a good command of the English language.
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Candidate must have at least one year of commercial driving experience.
- Candidate must have a clear driver abstract.
- Candidate must be able to drive a delivery van in a safe and responsible manner.
- Candidate must prioritize safety above all else.
- Candidate must be able to work in various weather conditions and temperature environments.
- Candidate must be able to frequently lift/carry 35 lbs for 8-10 hours daily.
- Candidate must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Candidate must be highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
- Candidate must be thorough and dependable.
- Candidate must have a professional appearance.
- Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidate must be detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
