Job Title: Toddler Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Toddler Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Oakville. As a Toddler Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for our youngest learners.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement the nationally recognized YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum to promote healthy growth and development in toddlers.
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment that ensures the safety and well-being of children.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with families through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist with meal and snack preparation, including setup and cleanup.
  • Comply with the Child Care Early Years Act, YMCA Policies, and YMCA Child Protection Policy.
Requirements:
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Early Childhood Education, and certified through the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE).
  • Experience working with toddlers and preschool children and families.
  • Passion for planning and facilitating high-quality play-based experiences for children.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • A flexible and collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment, responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members.
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C prior to the first day of work.
  • Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
